Sonar Air is an evidence-backed developer sourcing product for recruitment agencies and in-house recruiting teams. This page explains, in plain language, how public technical evidence is used — and what the product does not decide.
What Sonar Air does
Sonar Air helps recruiting teams discover developers through publicly visible technical work, then review the evidence behind each match before deciding who to contact.
It assists research. It does not make hiring decisions.
Who it is for
Recruitment agencies, in-house talent acquisition teams, sourcing professionals, and technical evaluators who need public evidence rather than résumé keywords alone.
Access is currently invite-only while self-serve signup is being prepared.
How discovery works
You define a role and search requirements. Sonar Air looks across public technical platforms, then returns candidate evidence and source context.
A recruiter reviews that evidence. A human decides whether and how to proceed.
What evidence means
Public technical activity is incomplete evidence. Private professional work may be invisible. Absence of visible activity is not evidence of inactivity.
Evidence is not candidate quality. Activity is not seniority. More commits do not mean a better developer. One repository cannot prove overall capability. Evidence needs human interpretation.
What Sonar Air does not do
Sonar Air does not scrape LinkedIn or use LinkedIn as a candidate-discovery source. A public LinkedIn URL may still appear as profile or enrichment context.
Language models are not used to score or rank candidates, recommend who to hire, or make employment decisions.
The product does not replace interviews, reference checks, or hiring judgment. It does not search the entire internet or guarantee coverage. Discovery coverage varies by role, technology, geography, and available public evidence.
Public sources and privacy
Sonar Air processes publicly available professional information from public technical platforms such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, Hacker News, Kaggle, and technical blogs.
When enabled, language models may help create summaries and build search queries. Outputs are assistive. The Privacy page is the authoritative description of data handling.
Human review and hiring decisions
Humans remain responsible for outreach, assessment, and hiring judgment. Sonar Air does not decide candidate suitability.
